Looking down at the coastline of the island of Oʻahu from the top of Makapuʻu Point during our 2023 Hawaiʻi trip. Yes, if you are keeping score at home, I have posted another photo from this location in addition to the photos in Part 6 of the trip report. But to a guy who has spent most al of his life in flat, dry West Tennessee, I could never get enough of views like this one.
The view from Makapuʻu Point on the island of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi, as seen during our June 2023 Hawaiʻi Trip. During our trip, we had hiked up the trail to see the Makapuʻu Lighthouse. But before we climbed, I was not quite expecting to see the view that we found there. I like wide vistas, where you can see for miles with the sky above you, and that was certainly what we found.
As our Hawaiʻi trip in June 2023 continues, we drive through the mountains to church and then hike to a lighthouse. If you have not done so already, you might want to read the previous part. Sunday, June 18, 2023 Once again, we followed our usual routine of getting up at 7:00 AM and eating breakfast on the Riedels’ balcony. We are definitely creatures of habit. No complaints from any of us about that.
