Friday, June 16, 2023 It does not take us long to settle into a routine. Just as with the previous day, my alarm started waking us up at 7:00 AM, and then after showering and such, we ate breakfast on the Riedels’ balcony.

Thursday, June 15, 2023 I had set an alarm on my phone for 7:00 AM, because I did not want to sleep the whole vacation away. I had woken up during the night a time or two around 2:00 AM, because that was 7:00 AM back home.
These two kids got married 30 years ago today! Happy anniversary to my beautiful wife Laura.
Thirty years into the future seems like a long way off when you are just starting out. But it does not seem like that long ago when you look at it from this direction. We have had lots of fun adventures, and of course a few difficult times to work through together, too. But the good times have far, far outweighed the bad times.

Wednesday, June 14, 2023 Our first flight was scheduled to leave Memphis at 8:30 AM. That meant getting to the airport at 6:30 AM. Because of the early hour, Laura and I spent the night at the Riedels’ house.

An Introduction Thirty years ago, Laura and I got married. Yes, we were just kids at the time, thanks for asking! In that same year, our best friends Brant and Karen Riedel also got married. Some people may not think that a 30th wedding anniversary is as big as a 25th or a 50th, but who says that you can’t celebrate it in a grand way if you want to?
