Crashing Waves at Cocoa Beach

Crashing Waves at Cocoa Beach

Burnsland
Waves crash upon the shore at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida. And yes, that is Laura out in the waves. During our October 2023 Florida trip, Laura and I spent a day at Cocoa Beach, one of our favorite places to spend a day. For most of the day it was cloudy and slightly cool, but that did not keep us from getting in the water, and it did not keep us from enjoying our day.
From Atlantic to Pacific, Or the Other Way Around

From Atlantic to Pacific, Or the Other Way Around

We have done some traveling this year, and those travels have taken us to both the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. Putting those together, one thought ran through my mind: From Atlantic to Pacific, Gee the traffic is terrific! “Home for the Holidays” by Al Stillman and Robert Allen (Made famous by Perry Como and the Carpenters, among others) Except that we went from Pacific to Atlantic, chronologically speaking.
Waves on Kaena Point Beach in Hawaii

Waves on Kaena Point Beach in Hawaii

Waves crash into rocks along the shoreline at Kaʻena Point State Park on the island of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi. We visited Kaʻena Point State Park early in our trip, as we were looking to check out some of the beaches of Oʻahu. If you have not already done so, you might want to read about it in Part 4 of the trip report. I always enjoy seeing waves splash high when they crash into rocks, and this beach provided a good show of that.

A lifeguard station on the beach at Kaʻena Point State Park on the island of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi, as seen during our June 2023 Hawaiʻi Trip. During our visit to Kaʻena Point, we happened to walk by the lifeguard station, which looked to me to be a good photo opportunity. For whatever reason, lifeguard stations are interesting to me, such as this one at Cocoa Beach, Florida and this one on the Hawaiian island of Kauaʻi.

Hawaii 2023 Trip Report Part 7 - The North Shore

Burnsland
The Hawaiʻi trip in June 2023 continues with a visit to a North Shore beach and some night photos. If you have not done so already, you might want to read the previous part. Monday, June 19, 2023 By now, if you have been reading the trip report, you know our usual routine. This day started like the others. No complaints at all. Great company, great scenery, a great place.

Looking down the shore at Kaʻena Point State Park on the island of Oʻhau in Hawaiʻi, as seen during our June 2023 trip. If you have read part 4 of the trip report, you may recall reading that I took lots of beach photos, but that I did not include all that many in that post. This is one of the many that I did not include. Not that it was not good enough to “make the cut”, but just that I had too many to choose from.

Hawaii 2023 Part 4 - Morning at the Beach

Burnsland
As our Hawaiʻi trip in June 2023 continues, we go out searching and wind up at the beach. If you have not done so already, you might want to read the previous part. Friday, June 16, 2023 It does not take us long to settle into a routine. Just as with the previous day, my alarm started waking us up at 7:00 AM, and then after showering and such, we ate breakfast on the Riedels’ balcony.
Peering at a Grand Cayman Pier

Peering at a Grand Cayman Pier

Burnsland
Peering at a pier in George Town, Grand Cayman, as seen during our 2022 Disney Cruise. During our stop in Grand Cayman, I was looking for interesting things to photograph, as I always do in new places. We found a small beach, and that beach had some nice views of the cruise ships that were anchored out in the harbor. As I was taking photos of the ships, I decided to include this pier in one of the photos.
A Chair Conversation at Castaway Cay

A Chair Conversation at Castaway Cay

Burnsland
Two groups of chairs appear to be having conversations in the water at Serenity Bay Beach on the island of Castaway Cay during our 2022 Disney Cruise. I do wonder what these chairs are talking about, don’t you? The three chairs farther out into the water seem to be talking about the two chairs at the water’s edge, while those two chairs seem to be oblivious to the other three.

Serenity Bay Beach and Spring Thoughts

At the Beach It looks like a beautiful day at Serenity Bay Beach on Castaway Cay, the Disney Cruise Line’s Bahamas island. No, we are not at the beach right now, although that certainly does sound nice. This was a view from our 2022 Disney Cruise. Those were good times. But now is a good time, too. We can’t all always be on vacation, after all. Some stuff like work has to be done from time to time so that there can be more adventures in the future.
