A View Down Cocoa Beach

A view down the beach at Lori Wilson Park at Cocoa Beach, Florida, from our July 2024 Florida trip.
If you are a longtime Burnsland website reader, you will know that I like views like this down the beach. There is no main subject here besides the beach itself. The waves are rolling in as their whitecaps settle. People are enjoying themselves under the brilliant blue sky. A few clouds line the horizon.
I look back at that day (and photos from the day) and have wonderful, warm, sunny memories, which are perfect for this time of year.
Just another beautiful day at Cocoa Beach.

Summer vs. Winter
One reason why I think about views like the one above of Cocoa Beach around this time of year is because the view around here in Tennessee right now looks completely different:

This was our second round of snow this winter, although we did not get as much snow this time around. And with temperatures in the very low teens and wind chills in the low single digits, this is very different from the summer beach view, especially as soon as you step outside.
But even as cold as it is here, I am thankful for the blessing of seasons. We get both warm weather and cold weather here, sometimes all in one week. If you don’t like the weather, it will change pretty soon. If you do like the weather, it will still change pretty soon, which will make you appreciate the weather that you like even more when it returns.
Some people complain about the heat in summer, and some people complain about the cold in winter. And then some people can’t be satisfied and complain about both. Instead of complaining, try to appreciate the changes that we get. Enjoy the good times, and remember them in the other times. That goes for seasons of life, too, and not just seasons of weather.
Changing seasons are a blessing, both in weather and in life.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. - Romans 12:12 ESV

About the Photos
For the main photo, I once again used Darktable, as I have been doing recently. But, perhaps due to my unfamiliarity with some of the settings, I could not get it to look quite like I wanted it to look. So I got it close to what I wanted, and then I finished it out in GIMP. Nothing wrong with using more than one tool to accomplish your goal. My main issue was the colors. I wanted to have a slightly golden glow, so I used a golden overlay in GIMP. Problem solved.
And the second photo was taken with my iPhone, and touched up a little in the Snapseed app.
