Twin Falls at Rock Island State Park in Tennessee
Water flows over Twin Falls at Rock Island State Park in Tennessee, as seen during our 2024 Tennessee Waterfalls trip.
When we were looking at Tennessee State Parks to visit to see waterfalls, I had seen photos of Twin Falls. But when we were at Rock Island State Park, I could not figure out where these falls were at first. So I had to get out my phone and do a little more looking.
To be able to see Twin Falls, we actually had to leave the main park area and go around to another area, and there we had this view of the falls. So if you are trying to find them, don’t give up! It is worth the time.
In Color
I liked the black and white view in the above photo, but if you want some color views, here you go!
Because our trip was last spring, there are lots of springtime colors here. And I liked being down near the river level to see the falls.
This view is very close to the black and white view in the first photo, although I stepped over to the right just a little for this photo. It was difficult to find a good view without branches and twigs in the way, but I didn’t mind too much.
We moved on down the path a little farther to get this view. And I liked the smaller falls off to the right, too.
And of course I had to get a photo of Laura in front of the falls, too. However, even this photo does not properly capture the size of the falls, which were larger than I thought based on the photos that I had seen.
I was happy that we had taken the time to find these falls, adding them to our Tennessee Waterfalls list.
Natural Blessings
I love the beauty of nature. Waterfalls are so interesting to me, partly because we live in a very flat area with no waterfalls around us. So the chance to get to see them is always fun.
Nature is full of blessings like that. Mountains, oceans, trees, sunsets, lakes, rivers, plains, fog, snow, rain, and so on. There are so many interesting things to see. Some of those may not appeal to you as much if you get to see them all the time.
You may be a little used to some of those natural blessings. I would guess that some people think that our rolling hills and woodlands here in West Tennessee are amazing, but we get to see them every day, so we do not think that much about it sometimes. And others might feel the same if they get to see the ocean every day, although I can never stop looking at it when we are near one.
All of these blessings are part of God’s creation, of course. I like to think that he put them all there to remind us of just how good he is, and how amazing he is. It is also a reminder to me that if he takes care of all of those natural things, then he will definitely take care of us, too. Because he created us just like he created everything in the world. Genesis tells us so.
Be sure to take some time to enjoy the blessings to be found in nature.
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. - Psalm 24:1-2 ESV

About the Photos
Originally, all of these photos were in color. But when I had finished with them, I realized that two of them looked very similar. Instead of just discarding one, I decided to convert one to black and white. And when I did that conversion, I was happy enough with the result to make it the lead photo for this post, instead of just what might seem to be an afterthought at the end. I do still like the color photos, too, but black and white was a nice change, since I do not do that all that often.
