Sunset at Disney Springs

Sunlight breaks through the clouds above the water at sunset at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World.
When we visit Disney Springs while in Florida, we usually end up there in the early evening, and that was once again true during our July 2024 trip. As we were walking across the relatively new bridge across the lake, the sky was too nice not to take a photo, so I did, of course.
When I look at this photo, I like the lights on the Boathouse lighthouse at the left, and the lights of the buildings on the right, too. The clouds are really interesting. But I especially like the ripples in the water and the patterns they make. I probably did not even notice those ripples when we were there, because I was too focused on the sky at the time. One of the nice things about having a photo to capture a moment in time is that you can take a lot longer to study that moment later on.

Sunsets
Sunsets happen every day. Over and over again. You may not always see them because of clouds, but you can still see their impacts as it gets dark after the sun has set. The same goes for sunrises, too. There is one every day. You can count on it.
Sometimes, we can take those sunrises and sunsets for granted. After all, they happen every day. If you miss one, there will be another one tomorrow, and the day after that, too. But every now and then, one of them catches your attention. Maybe you are in a different place, or maybe the sky just seems more colorful than usual. But sometimes, you notice them.
It can be the same way with all of God’s blessings. He blesses us continually, and we can sometimes take those blessings for granted. We can start to just assume that those blessings will always be there. But sometimes, one of those blessings catches our attention. Maybe it is our position in life, or maybe it is because we were having a bad day and needing something positive. But sometimes, we notice God’s blessings more than other times.
Make it a point to try to notice God’s blessings every day. Do not take them for granted, just because they keep coming. Be thankful for all of them.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. - James 1:17 ESV

About the Photo
As you might guess from the description above, this was just a quick photo as we were walking across the bridge. I saw the sky and quickly stopped to take the photo. Nothing really special about the setup or anything, but looking back now, I am glad that I stopped.
As is usual, I did fiddle1 with the settings ot get the colors to look right and the sky not to be too washed out. And as usual, that extra work was worth it in the long run.

Not a literal fiddle, of course. I am more of a piano player. And I was a trombone player back in my high school days. ↩︎
