Rocking Horse and Christmas Tree

Christmas decorations have started to spring up all over our house. We have lots of decorations everywhere, and Laura takes care to make sure everything looks just right.

Every now and then, new things get added into the mix. This rocking horse was added a couple of years ago, and it goes well in front of a tree full of horse-related ornaments.

Just one of the many little things that make our home feel festive for the Christmas holidays.

Unique

Our Christmas decorations are unique, because no one else likes exactly the same things that we like. I would hope that your Christmas decorations are unique, too.

Our decorations include horses, Disney, beaches, more Disney, more horses, cowboys, and some other things. They also include ornaments that Jaylin made when he was younger, and ornaments with photos of Jaylin when he was younger. All of the things that we like. And while some of our trees have white lights, others are covered with multi-colored lights, because we like everything to be nice and colorful.

Other people have decorations and ornaments of the things that they like, which might not include the things that we like. And they probably have some things that their children made, too. And they are unique to them.

Stores like to sell lots of the same thing. That is how they make their money, because mass-producing something is much easier and cheaper than making everything individually. There is nothing wrong with buying your decorations at a store like that, either. But I am guessing that you will not buy all of the same things that we buy. And that is just fine.

People are all unique. I like that there is not anyone exactly like me out there. There are several people who share the same interests, but no one is exactly like me. And no one is exactly like you, either. You are unique, and that makes you special.

Wouldn’t it be a great world if everyone treated everyone else like they are special? Because they are.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:8-10

About the Photo

This photo is slightly dark. I am well aware of that, because I took it at night. I lightened it up a bit, but it is still a little dark. I did try a daytime version of the same photo, but I did not like it as much, because I like how the main light in this photo comes from the tree lights. So I do not mind the dark all that much. Not everything has to be light and bright.
