Believe it or not, we do have Christmas decorations that are not shaped like a certain cartoon mouse. But we do also have several that fit that category, too. These are just a small sample of some that Laura ordered online from somewhere or other, and they go nicely on the Mickey lights which have adorned the doorway between our den and kitchen for a while.

Yes, the Mickey lights are not technically Christmas decorations, at least in our house. They are good for any season. However, they do not usually have our Christmas tree lights as a background.

Making Memories

Christmas is almost here, and I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas holiday with lots of family time, making good memories for the future!

And right after Christmas is the start of the new year. It seems like 2023 just got started, but before long, 2024 will be here. And if you are reading this in future years, 2023 will probably seem like a distant memory, even if it was just a couple of years in the past.

New years can be exciting because they represent a time to start over, or a time to start something new. It can sometimes be good to see the old year go away, if it has not been your best year. But the beginning of the new year can also give you a chance to look back at the old year fondly and remember the memories you created during that year.

I hope this year has been a good one for you. It has been good for us. If it has not been a good year, I hope you can do what is necessary to make a change for the better in the coming year.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. - Isaiah 43:19

About the Photo

These Mickey ornaments were some of the first Christmas decorations that went up in our house. I thought about taking a photo of them early on, but I decided to wait until I could get the Christmas tree in the background. That ended up being a nice touch. The prime lens with the tight focus, making the tree and other lights in the background blurry, paid off well here.
