It's Laura's Birthday!
This lovely girl has another birthday! That’s right, it is Laura’s birthday once again! Happy birthday to my beautiful wife! I won’t say what her age is, but the numbers are sometimes preceded by the name of a tropical island state. But age is not important. It is just a number. What is more important is getting to spend another year with someone special.
Here’s hoping this birthday is the start of another great year!
Pre-Birthday Celebrations
To get an early start on celebrating Laura’s birthday, we took a long weekend trip to Kansas. Yes, it was actually an Easter weekend trip to visit Jaylin, but who says the trip can’t serve two purposes?
While we were there, and also along the way, we got to go on some nature hikes in some interesting places. We got to do some shopping at some of Laura’s favorite stores. And we got to spend some time together, both as a couple and as a family of three. It was a good weekend.
Of course, if you know us, you know that we can have fun just about anywhere that we are. It does not have to be somewhere fancy or exotic. Those big trips are lots of fun, too. But we can have fun on the small trips as well. And that is what we did. I will have a few photos of what we saw coming up in the days ahead. But first, a birthday celebration is more important.
Life would be rather dull without Laura to brighten my days!

About the Photo
If you are wondering, this photo is not from Laura’s birthday. In fact, it is also not from the Kansas trip I mentioned earlier. This photo was actually taken during our 2022 Florida Trip. And to be precise, this photo was taken on our 29th wedding anniversary. I had been saving it for a good time to share it, and this seemed like the perfect time.
One of the advantages to a 25mm prime lens is that you can get a lot in the frame without having to be too far away, but you can also have good depth of field. The lens was perfect for this photo.
