Kaena Point State Park in Hawaii

Looking down the shore at Kaʻena Point State Park on the island of Oʻhau in Hawaiʻi, as seen during our June 2023 trip.

If you have read part 4 of the trip report, you may recall reading that I took lots of beach photos, but that I did not include all that many in that post. This is one of the many that I did not include. Not that it was not good enough to “make the cut”, but just that I had too many to choose from. I decided to hold on to most of them to post at random times. The next post after that day of the trip report might not be all that random, however. But there are still plenty more to share later on.

Another View

Here is another view, facing the opposite direction from the first photo. I actually took both of these photos from the same place, but looking in different directions. Laura was enjoying watching the waves roll onto the shore, and I thought it would make a good photo opportunity.

As you can see, the beach was not all that crowded when we were there, which was perfect. I never get tired of beaches, and I never get tired of beach photos, either. Consider yourself warned.

What Do You Like?

Everyone has that one thing that they like. Some people have lots of things, and that is fine, too. Others may think the thing that you like is a little odd, or they may think that you are a little odd for liking that thing, whatever it is. But that is okay.

Do not ever feel that you have to like what everyone else likes. It is perfectly fine to do your own thing.

The beach is not for everyone. I completely understand that. Some people feel that there is not enough to do there. Some people do not like the water. Some people do not like the heat and the sun. And I am sure there are many other reasons that people might not like the beach. But it is good for me. I am not telling you that you have to like the beach because I like the beach. I am just telling you that I like it. Do with that what you want.

What you like might be great for you, but it might not be great for me. There is nothing wrong with not conforming to whatever anyone else tells you. Be your own person. It makes life more enjoyable.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:2

About the Photos

I went for some pretty heavy color saturation in these photos, as you can probably tell. I wanted these photos to look as vibrant as the memories are in my mind. I also liked the drama in the clouds in the first photo, and I wanted to bring that out as much as possible, too.

One good thing about having these photos be separate from the trip report is that I was able to spend a little more time getting them to look like I wanted them to look.
